SK Telecom Debuts Dual-mode WiBro/HSDPA Device

Following the commencement of its nationwide HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access) service T LOGIN in March 2007, Korea's SK Telecom recently debuted a dual-mode convergence device that boasts the advantages of HSDPA and WiBro in one. Currently SK Telecom's WiBro service is confined to Seoul and six neighboring cities. With the USB-type convergence device, users are able to switch to HSDPA in areas outside the WiBro hot zones. An initial sign-up fee of 55,000 Won (US$59.1; US$1 = 931.1 Won) and monthly fee of 45,900 Won (US$49.3) are required of subscribers to this service.
